Quick answer

For a KYC-verified BKJ user, the published Vietnam QR limit is USD1,000 equivalent per payment. A larger wallet balance does not raise that ceiling. If your bill fits the current limit, BKJ can remain an option where the merchant channel and your account are supported and the route is permitted. If it exceeds the limit, arrange another accepted method before checkout.

Read the single-payment limit first

BKJ’s QR Payment Limit Rules, dated 31 July 2026, list Vietnam QR payments for verified users from USD0.65 to USD1,000 per transaction. The same row gives a USD10,000 daily limit and USD100,000 monthly limit. Those cumulative amounts do not authorize a larger individual payment.

These are QR rules, not BKJ Visa card limits. Use the current account’s available limits as well as the published schedule: previous payments or account restrictions may leave less room for the next bill.

Match the bill to the available route

What you findWhat it meansPractical choice
Bill within the single limit; sufficient balance and remaining allowanceAmount conditions may be satisfiedCheck merchant support and the final quote
Bill within the limit; balance insufficientFunding is the immediate gapConsider adding funds only after the other conditions pass
Bill exceeds the single limitMore balance will not resolve the capArrange another merchant-accepted method

Use this table before moving money specifically for a purchase. It separates a funding shortfall from a payment that does not fit the service’s limits, so you do not leave an unnecessary balance in an app.

Keep the VND bill and total debit separate

The merchant’s bill is in VND; the published limits above are in USD. Do not turn USD1,000 into a permanent VND threshold using a remembered exchange rate. Review the actual payment amount, applicable limit, fees and stablecoin debit in the current flow before approving.

BKJ Scan to Pay describes USDT- or USDC-funded purchases with local-fiat receipt by the merchant. The amount you need available may include fees beyond the bill itself. Near a limit, ask BKJ to clarify how the displayed amount is assessed if the app does not make that clear.

Choose an alternative without forcing the QR payment

A bill below the cap still needs a supported merchant. BKJ’s QR instructions say that an unsupported-merchant message means the platform payment channel has not been activated. A visible VietQR logo does not override that result.

For an over-limit or unsupported bill, ask whether the merchant accepts your international card or VND cash. Do not split payments to bypass controls, and do not assume a personal bank transfer is an approved substitute for checkout. If you already attempted payment, confirm its status before paying the same bill another way.

A 2026 analysis in Vietnam’s central-bank journal reiterates that Bitcoin and similar virtual currencies are not lawful payment instruments. A published BKJ limit or merchant receipt of VND does not itself establish authorization for the service or conversion arrangement. Confirm that the specific route is permitted for your use.

For the wider card, cash and QR choice without a local account, see the Vietnam payment guide. Keep the alternative ready before a time-sensitive bill is due.
