Quick answer
Use the minute before payment to confirm five things: what the merchant accepts, which payment rail you are using, the VND amount, every displayed fee and the result recorded by your bank or app. If any field is unclear, pause and use a prepared backup.
This check reduces avoidable errors. It cannot guarantee that an issuer, network or merchant system will approve the transaction.
| Time | Check | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 0-15 seconds | Merchant route | Ask whether the merchant accepts card, cash or the specific QR route |
| 15-30 seconds | Payment details | Confirm merchant name, VND amount and currency conversion choice |
| 30-45 seconds | Account readiness | Check balance, network access and displayed fee |
| 45-60 seconds | Authorisation and status | Approve once, then verify the recorded result before retrying |
Confirm the merchant’s actual route
Ask a specific question. ‘Do you take cards?’ and ‘Can I scan this code with my app?’ are different checks. A merchant bank QR code may not be compatible with every foreign or crypto-funded app.
Use a live code displayed by the merchant. Avoid payment instructions sent through unknown screenshots, and stop if the recipient name does not match the purchase context.
Read the amount and currency before approval
For cards, review the VND amount and any home-currency conversion offer. For QR, confirm the merchant, VND amount and editable amount field. For cash, check the note denomination and change.
Do not approve a rounded or converted amount merely because a queue is moving quickly. A ten-second review is easier than resolving a disputed amount later.
Check the account and fee
A working app still needs an eligible account, sufficient balance and connectivity. A stablecoin-funded route also requires the correct supported asset and any balance needed for the displayed charge.
BKJ users should scan inside the official App and proceed only when the code is recognised and a normal confirmation page shows the merchant, VND amount, chosen asset, payment fee and final debit.
Verify status before paying again
One authorisation should produce one record. If the terminal or app remains pending, review transaction history and ask the merchant to check before starting a second payment.
Keep the merchant receipt and digital transaction record until the purchase is complete. If the payment fails clearly, use an independent card or VND rather than repeating an uncertain authorisation.
What to do next
The 60-second check is simple: identify the rail, verify the merchant and VND amount, read the cost, authorise once and confirm the recorded status. Keep a backup for anything the check cannot resolve.
