Quick answer

The true cost of spending USDT in Vietnam is rarely one percentage. A QR payment or crypto-funded card can involve a network deposit, asset conversion, payment-service charge, card FX or merchant costs, and a different treatment when the transaction fails or is refunded.

Calculate each layer for the exact amount and date, then confirm the final debit shown before authorisation.

LayerWhen it appliesHow to verify
Deposit networkMoving USDT into the payment accountOfficial deposit screen and sending network

Separate funding from spending

A network charge paid while moving USDT into an account may support many later purchases. Do not add the full funding charge to every purchase; allocate it transparently if a worked example needs a per-purchase figure.

Confirm the asset and chain before deposit. An incorrect network creates a custody problem, not a shopping discount.

Use the confirmation page for transaction cost

The payment screen should show the VND amount, asset, fee and final debit. BKJ’s guide states a 1% payment fee for its QR flow as of 18 August 2026. The live page remains the final source for a specific payment.

Crypto-funded cards add card-network and FX rules. ATM use adds the possibility of both issuer and local operator charges.

Record the cost of failure and refund

A failed payment can create support time, temporary balance restrictions or unrecovered third-party charges. State only the refund treatment that the provider actually publishes.

BKJ says a completed merchant refund also returns the associated payment fee. The merchant initiates the refund, and the route follows the relevant payment channel.

What to do next

Build the fee stack from the bottom up and date every variable. The final debit on the live payment screen is more useful than a marketing claim detached from the transaction.
